What is your main job function? I like to think I have the most fun job at NSTAR! (But, I bet everyone here thinks they have the most fun!) I create and maintain all Marketing campaigns for NSTAR. Some of my favorite things to do are creating posters and flyers, managing contests and notifying winners, and of course, making the monthly newsletters for you!
What is your history with NSTAR? I began working for NSTAR in December of 2003 as an Administrative Assistant. I also spent time in the recruiting department. But now I am doing what I love!
What do you LOVE about NSTAR? The culture here is great. We have the freedom to get the job done however we see fit, as long as it is within the parameters of our job description. Everyone here has one thing in common. we all want to succeed, which means making our clients, candidates, and contractors happy!
Where did you grow up? I am from Toledo, Ohio. I went to high school in Traverse City, Michigan, and college in Cincinnati, Ohio. Then I found NSTAR, and moved to North Carolina.
What are your hobbies? I love to paint, to sing, and to perform light construction and home-improvement projects. I love animals, and enjoy the outdoors.
What was your favorite vehicle? 1998 Explorer, named "Big Jim"
Do you have any pets? Where to begin?? I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 turtles, 1 snake, and 35 fish. It may sound like a lot, but it used to be much more!
Which celebrities would you most like to meet? Trent Reznor, Judd Apatow, Kevin Spacey, Rob Zombie, Serj Tankian, and of course Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
What is your biggest pet-peeve? Silence, hypocrisy, intolerance, chewing noises, being touched while I'm eating. the list goes on.
Do you have a favorite music group? System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ani DiFranco, Tenacious D, Pearl Jam, Tool

Julia joined the NSTAR team in August of 2007, and as a Production Assistant she works as a liaison between candidates who are in the process of interviewing, and the NSTAR Account Executives who are in charge of the open positions. A typical day for her includes contacting candidates, performing phone screenings, and assisting candidates into the next step of the hiring process. Julia grew up in Tarboro, North Carolina, and currently lives in Clayton with her dog, Lucky.
What do you LOVE about NSTAR? I enjoy working in a true team environment. Everyone here is willing to go the extra mile for one another.
What are your hobbies? I love to read, and I like exercising with my dog, Lucky.
Do you play sports? I used to play softball and volleyball, and I cheered in school.
What are your favorite teams? UNC Tar heels and the Carolina Hurricanes!
What was your favorite vehicle? My favorite vehicle was my first car, a red 1999 Chevy Cavalier. Its name was Sally.
Do you have any pets? Yes. I have a Shiba Inu mix named Lucky. She is 7 years old and she knows how to sit, shake, and play dead!
Which celebrities would you most like to meet? Sandra Bullock and Mel Gibson
What is your favorite movie? Gone With The Wind
What was the best gift you ever received, and why? The best gift I have ever received is my Grandfather's watch. My Grandma gave this to me after he died. I was very close to him and it meant a lot to have something of his.
Would you choose to live in the future or the past? The past - preferably in the 1800's.
What is your favorite G-rated word? Holy Cow!

Quin is a Production Assistant for our NSTAR Search division. Quin grew up in Hampton and Newport News, Virginia. What do you love about NSTAR? The open lines of communication.
What are your hobbies? Riding roller coasters, walking the Noland Trail and Virginia Beach Boardwalk, and hanging out in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
What kind of car do you drive? Mazda Tribute.
What is your biggest pet-peeve? When people say "mines" instead of "mine".
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? Donate to a few students in An Achievable Dream, start a scholarship foundation, and give money to my parents and a few relatives.
What is your favorite food? Seafood!
What are your favorite movies? I have many.Terms of Endearment, Anna & The King, Pretty Women, Steel Magnolias, The Notebook, Imitation of Life, Urban Cowboy, Dances With Wolves, An Officer and a Gentleman, The Devil Wears Prada, The Family Stone, and GI Jane.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Venice, because the city is sinking.
Do you have any pets? Yes, one dog named Hannibal.

Wiley is an Account Executive in our NSTAR Search Division. Wiley grew up in sunny Florida, but currently resides in the beautiful Tarheel state of North Carolina. A typical day in the life of Wiley includes calls to clients and job seekers, placing qualified candidates and helping his clients discover their true workforce needs.
What do you love about NSTAR? The wonderful people I work with on a daily basis.

Matt is an Account Executive with the NSTAR Search team. He was born in Atlanta, GA but grew up in Garner, NC, where he resides to this day. A typical day in the life of Matt includes seeking out new business partnerships, calling potential candidates, and managing existing client accounts.
What do you LOVE about NSTAR? Honestly - the overall atmosphere. We all take our work very seriously and get the job done. I also love the challenge of building a new business and finding clients that can benefit from our services.
What are your hobbies? When I am not working, I am an outdoor junkie. Whitewater kayaking is the most exciting thing I do. I also love to snowboard and play in a baseball league.
What kind of car do you drive? Nissan X-terra
What is your favorite food? Without question, anything with some spice and heat.
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? I would pay off my parents' mortgage and send them on a HUGE vacation. I would also fly myself to Chile to do some summer snowboarding!
What is your favorite sports team? I love Duke University Basketball!
What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Miller's Crossing. It is an awesome 1920s Irish mob movie by the Cohen Brothers.
If you could meet anyone, who would you meet? I would want to meet my paternal Grandfather who passed away before I was born. I would love to speak to him about living in the Georgia Mountains during the early 1900s and to hear his WWI stories.

Tell us an interesting fact about you? I had a very tiny part in the movie Bull Durham when I was 13. I mean very tiny. You can see me on the screen by myself for about two seconds.

Amy has been part of the NSTAR team for over 3 years, and is currently working with our NSTAR Search Division. Amy grew up in Mountaintop, PA and currently resides in Drums, PA. A typical day for Amy includes reviewing resumes, searching our database and working with the Search Recruiting Team to find the right people for careers with clients in the Permanent Placement Division.
What do you LOVE about NSTAR? There is always something interesting happening!
What is your favorite food? Sushi
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go? The North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
What color is your car? The same as the pollen.
If you could spend a day with any two people, alive or deceased, who would they be? Either my maternal grandparents or the cavemen from the Geico commercial. I can't decide which.
If you had an endless supply of money, what would you do with it? Probably laugh maniacally and roll around in it a lot!
What is your favorite G-Rated Word? Dagnabbit!
If your life was a movie, what would the title be? George Romero's "Resumes of the Living Dead"
Who would play you in the movie? Leather Tuscadero from "Happy Days" would play me in the movie. She's due for a comeback!
Tell us an interesting fact about you? I can completely disassemble and reassemble an M-16 in 45 seconds.
What else would you want people to know about you? I consider it a privilege to be a part of something as important as a person's career decisions. I love being at NSTAR because we do the kinds of things for people that I would want done for me, if I were considering a job transition. |
